Pattern Description: A medieval fantasy pattern based on the Lord of the Rings movie costumes. I chose view B, without the view B bodice (an extra piece that goes over the dress).
Pattern Sizing: I made a size 14 and took it in a little in back for a smoother fit.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, although I did not make the over-bodice.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I was nervous about how the lace yoke would turn out, but everything went well. The front piece of the dress fits oddly. It puckers in the wrong spot on my chest, and I believe it should be a bit wider so it fits correctly in the bust.
Fabric Used: Silk Shantung. It unravels quite a bit, so I would recommend stay-stitching EVERYTHING. It has a lovely drape, although it was very hard to hem.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made no alterations save taking it in an inch or two in the back when I put the zipper in. Also, I did not place the zipper all the way up to my neck; instead I closed the lace yoke in back with hook and eyes and began the zipper where the shantung started so as to keep the dainty effect of the lace. I cut off a little of the length because I was planning on wearing it outside and did not want it to drag on the ground.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would totally sew this again (after fixing the front of the dress). Maybe in a less fancy fabric, so I could ride my horse in it. ;)
Conclusion: A fabulous, very Lord of the Rings-like gown! I love it. Perfect for an Eowyn look-a-like project, or just a fun fantasy dress. I am very happy with it.

Very pretty! I like the lace at the collar.
