Pattern Description:
* Four sizes fit from lightweight hiking to plastic, double boots.
*All sizes allow the same wide height adjustment range.
*Form-fitting design is less apt to snag or trip you up. An important feature particularly when wearing crampons or skis.
*2" wide, overlapping, Hook and Loop closure in front;
- is very fast on and off.
- avoids potential zipper complications in the future.
- is very secure & degree of overlap can be varied to adjust fit.
*Lined Bottom section is neat, durable and avoids problems from unraveling fabric edges or loose threads.
*Adjustable top webbing band.
Pattern Sizing:
I made my own pattern, using the simple to follow guidelines and instructions, provided with the pattern. I made mine in Medium and made my husband a pair in Ex-Large.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It looked like it, except I did add my own little touches to reflect my personality. I'm pretty sure I won't see any like them when I'm out snowshoeing! haha

Were the instructions easy to follow?
I found them very easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked being able to use just one pattern to create as many different sizes as I liked.

Fabric Used:
I used a medium weight Waterproof Cordura for the Lowers and a lightweight 3 Ply Ultrex for the Uppers and the Linings.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Other than choosing sizing to fit, using vibrant colors and adding some Bling, I followed it pretty much as it is. I used "Suspender Clips" in place of the Gaiter Hooks. I also added a "D" Ring on the bottom inside boot strap, in case it wears out. I can cut it off and replace it easily.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I already have made 2 pairs, one for me and one for my husband. I will make myself more pairs. I really like to wear matching things, one reason that I sew most of my own things.

Conclusion:
We hike and snowshoe a lot where we live, the beautiful PNW. I was always disappointed with the selection of expensive Gaiters I found in the stores. I like what I wear to reflect my taste and aesthetics. I love bright colors too and all I ever saw were brown, black or the occasional khaki! These were easy to sew and took little time. I created a pair in about 4 hours work. I am very happy with these and will be wearing them tomorrow to the Big Four Ice Caves! I cannot wait!

Love your gaiters! Nice to see gaiters with a bit of personality! I made these a few years ago in boring green. They are a great design.
