Pattern Description: Misses flared skirt with yoke.
Pattern Sizing: Misses 6-8-10-12-14. I made the size 14 for my daughter. The pattern sizing was true to the size chart.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I made View C, the 25" length with pockets, but i omitted the belt loops.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. The pocket placement instructions could have been clearer.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? As another reviewer stated, the pocket placement markings and instructions seemed a bit vague. It was because the dots on the skirt are supposed to match up with dots on the pocket. I couldn't see the dots on the folded edge of the pocket trim after it was folded and edge stitched. I figured it out, made it work, and then wondered why it took me so long!
Fabric Used: Multicolored plaid wool challis from Mood online. I added an Ambiance lining in midnight blue from Joann. I ignored the pattern piece layout in the instructions, and spent a lot of time laying out the pattern pieces on the plaid so that the pieces would match (approximately.)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The unaltered waistband muslin that i tried on my daughter seemed like it might end up being a bit tight, so I decreased the seam allowances on the waist band to 4/8" to give a bit more ease at the waist. I also added a full lining to the skirt for warmth and to prevent static. I omitted the belt loops, also.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would sew it again. The pattern was easy to make, and the skirt is swingy and fun to wear. Since this skirt was for my daughter, i will have to sew it again if i want one for myself!
Conclusion: Fun, versatile, and easy skirt pattern!
