Pattern Description: A monokini or a one piece. I made the monokini.

Fuzzy back view

Pattern Sizing: I made a small on top, going out to a medium at the hips.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? kind of.

Were the instructions easy to follow? yes.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I thought the style was interesting. I did particularly like how it fit well. Once you get your size figured out in a KS swimwear, it pretty much holds true for the different patterns...at least the ones I tested.

Fabric Used: Some swimwear that has been in the stash for about forever. I can't even remember where I bought it from.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I did have to lengthen the pattern at the waist like I do with all kwik sews. For the bottom back, I moved the curve out to the large to give myself some extra coverage. I think I may have cut the elastic around the top an inch shorter. I probably figured it couldn't hurt.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? No, I won't sew the monokini again. I just don't like it on me. I didn't like the cutouts on the side and felt generally that a two piece was more flattering for my figure. If I sewed the one piece, I would add straps to it and I really didn't like the strapless-ness..

Conclusion: Okay, but not for me. I did take the suit on our vacation, but didn't wear it.

Good job and great fabric. Since you don't think you like it, maybe you could combine it with another one piece pattern to preserve the look of the curved sides, which are pretty.

I always think monokinis look so cute until I try them on; they just never seem to work on my body

My first reaction was "what does she mean, not for me? This looks awesome and the suit is cute! And then I saw how smoking hot you look in the two bikinis reviewed and it all made sense! Gorgeous work on all these suits.
