Pattern Description: This is another Frankendress using 4070 skirt with 2174 bodice that I completely redrafted to give the low neckline front and back

Pattern Sizing: I cut a 14. My measurements are a little more like a 16 for my hips and waist but the 14 fits me fine

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not really but I wasn't trying to.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Didn't use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The 2174 bodice doesn't fit me straight off the pattern but a little rejigging here and there, it fits fine.

Fabric Used: Vintage style print from Spotlight. I got this for $3 a metre - still can't believe it! I should have bought the roll! It's exactly the same print as one of the latest Retro Spec'd dresses retailing at over $200 (only theirs is cotton sateen whereas mine is 100% cotton)

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made a mock up of the 2174 bodice and then I redrafted it to make the neckline and backline lower I made sure it covered my bra strap but I added little bra attachments to the straps because the straps would slip down all the time if I didn't. It works beautifully. Not a dress to wear shopping if you intend on trying things on all day as I was to find out! I also only lined the bodice as I felt the fabric was heavy enough that it wouldn't be see through. I didn't want too much bulk under the skirt.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have sewn this combination twice now and I really like it. I'm sure it will get another looking into.

Conclusion: I love this dress. It's so easy to wear and it gets compliments from strangers every time I wear it. And noone asks if I made it so that's a big bonus!

I didn't put pockets in it and I kind of wish I did because I always go looking for them but then, it's not really a pocket kind of dress.
