Pattern Description: A corduroy pinafore dress with lined bodice and patch pockets.
Pattern Sizing: One size (needs to be graded if you are not the same size as Nette). I just added a few centimetres all the way round.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, pretty much!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, except the bit about attaching the lining to the bodice which I found a little confusing when I first read it. After reading it again, it seemed ok but I didn't fancy hand stitching so I just used my own method.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's a very simple, FREE, downloadable pattern! Easy to follow, very few pattern pieces, goes together really quickly (I made it in one afternoon!)
Fabric Used: Black cotton corduroy from Barry's fabrics in Birmingham.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The only thing I changed was how I attached the lining to the bodice by machine stitching rather than hand stitching. Oh and I had to put in a little pleat on each side of the bodice because it was a teeny bit too big but I didn't realise until I'd sewn it up...
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don't need anymore pinafore dresses but if I did, then yes I would definitely sew it again! I would recommend it to anyone.
Conclusion: I love the way it's turned out so cute! Read more about it on my blog:
