Pattern Description: According to BurdaStyle: "Sometimes you can just enjoy doing nothing; with this comfy mini-dress of fine jersey that's no problem! It's so easy to make with only two side seams, two shoulder seams and no fastening. The details are delightful; like the oval V-neckline and the dropped shoulders."
Pattern Sizing: 34-42
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. But mine was tighter than in the picture and I made the size I normally wear.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The pattern consists of two pieces and a length of bias tape. So even if there were no instructions, it would not be too difficult. However, the way Burda tells you to do the bias facing on the neck is not completely intuitive. So the instructions are needed there and are adequate.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I just think it is a nice take on a sweater dress. I wanted something comfy and pretty and this would be perfect for both if it was just a bit bigger. I recommend going up a size if you want a relaxed fit. Something to be aware of is that the arm holes are quite deep and you must wear something under the dress.
Fabric Used: Sweater knit I ordered from www.fabric.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I would make a size larger.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I am not sure about sewing it again; maybe if I see the right fabric. But I would recommend it to others.
Conclusion:
This is a cute and stylish dress and SUPER simple to sew. For more pictures and information come on over to my blog at: Without Directions
grays08 said... Great dress and love your blog. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have "Oops"! Thanks for the info on sizing and also the fact that this gapes at the side. I wondered about that when I saw it in the magazine but haven't sewn it up yet so I'll definitely account for that. Thanks for the review and great info! 2/4/13 10:31 AM
