Messenger bag from Lisa Lam's book, The Bag Making Bible
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?. Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?. Absolutely. I love the step by step photos in this book.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?. There is a lot of cutting of interfacing, but it is necessary for structure. Overall great size for papers, etc. Straightforward construction, although I am not sure why the ultrafirm interfacing is only in the front. I think if I made it again I would put it in the back as well.
Overall the entire book is great and a must have for anyone who love making bags. My only complaint is that the final measurements of the bags are not stated. Otherwise, it's filled with awesome instructions and techniques.
Fabric Used: Richloom Oslo home dec.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:. Used single turnlock for closure and swivel hooks with webbing strap.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? yes and yes.
Conclusion:
Very happy with the finished product, very versatile design.
