Pattern Description: Fitted skirts with various hemline treatments. Darted waist and side zipper.
Pattern Sizing: 18-24
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? No - I made this into a fitted straight skirt!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I was disappointed with the look of my previous skirt made from this pattern - the pattern cut the skirt in half horizontally, but the fit over the hips and waist was really good, so I decided to stick with what works, and just use the yoke portion and make it longer! I put in an invisible zip, fully lined the skirt adding lace trim to the lining and sewed the lining to the opening of the vent to hold it in place.
Fabric Used: A wool suiting that I have had for years in a lovely Royal Stewart (I think) tartan.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: As above - elongated the yoke to make a longer straight skirt with a back vent.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes!
Conclusion: I am quite happy with this skirt, it looks great on and who doesn't like a tartan skirt?
this has turned out so well, lovely.
