Pattern Description: Knit Dress with faux wrap and a flattering midriff - half circle skirt
Pattern Sizing: 30" - 50" High bust measurement
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much, I confess after cutting out this took me all of 2 hours to sew together so I'm not sure I paid enough attention to fitting ..... I also lengthened the sleeves since I used a merino wool jersey which is better suited to a Winter garment
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, I think they were, although I did get a bit confused on the fitting but that's probably because I was rushing.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Loved the pattern. Loved the way it came together, loved the simple instructions.
Fabric Used: A merino wool jersey that I bought from Ebay. I prewashed it then I found it almost impossible to find the straight grain. I confess because I found the fabric such a pain I got a bit fed up with the project.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I lengthened the sleeves, I also left out the pockets, partly because I don't need to carry anything at hip level (if you get my drift) and secondly because I was too lazy ...
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? One of the few things I would definitely sew again, in fact I have the Liberty Jersey all prewashed up and waiting now. Not only is this a really flattering style but I see them all over Spring lines of RTW this coming Spring.
Conclusion: Highly recommend this first offering from Cake Patterns. A really great, easy to wear, flattering dress. I'm no skinny minny and flattering RTW is very difficult to find but this dress is typical of why I sew. It fits and makes me feel great!
