Pattern Description:
Close-fitting, pullover dresses have neckline/sleeve variations and narrow hem. A: elasticized side seams. D: double-layered collar.
Pattern Sizing:
8-24W. I made a 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yup.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Love the cowl for view D. Popped on the 3/4 sleeves as well. It's just such an easy to make (and wear) dress.
However, I previously tried making view C, which called for just turning and stitching the neckline, and it was a disaster. Part of it was my choice of fabric, but if you decide to make view C, it really needs more support than the pattern calls for (AKA a neckband instead). I chronicled my fail here.
Fabric Used:
Sweater knit. It was a bit lighter and more sheer than I really should've used. I have to wear a knit slip under it which the dress clings to.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut a 12 and left it at that. No alterations of any kind! If I were to do it again, I would cut the shoulders/sleeves in a 10 as they both seem to be a bit wide.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Sure! I can see a view A or B in my future. Cutting and sewing took me about 2 hours, and the result is simple, but nice. I would recommend this to anyone - especially a beginner.
Conclusion:
Great, simple to make dress. Just make sure to support the neckline if you decide to go for view C.
