Pattern Description:
V-neck, buttoned long blouse with side seam slits and banded 3/4 sleeves.
Pattern Sizing:
Burda sizes 38-46. I traced a 38 taking it out to a 40 at the hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the simple lines, no collar and the detail of the buttons. The side splits, 3/4 sleeves with bands... love it all.
No dislikes for me.
Fabric Used:
A lovely blue linen bought at the Fabric Store (Brisbane, Australia).
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The only pattern variations I made were
- to cut a size 38 upper and take it out from waist to the hips to a size 40
- make the sleeves slightly wider. I noticed when I sewed the first sleeve seam and tried it on my arm it was going to be too cosy, so I unpicked that seam and sewed the seam narrower. I then took a little off the top of the sleeve cap to counter the extra width.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would make this again if I had a need for another shirt like this and highly recommend this pattern.
Conclusion:
I love this shirt - it looks smart paired with pants, but I also plan to use it a pool-side cover-up. It could be worn over a tank or dress as a lightweight jacket also.
