Pattern Description:
A cowl-necked top or pullover
Pattern Sizing:
34-42
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Absolutely!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were brilliantly easy to follow, particularly since there's only 3 pieces to this pattern!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like cowl necklines, and the ruching on the sleeves and the asymmetrical lines created by the elastic in the right side seam create an interesting shape.
Fabric Used:
wool sweater knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I usually do an FBA, but I didn't for this because there is a lot of stretch in this semi-sheer sweater knit. It's super warm, too, which surprised me because it is so lightweight and airy.
I sewed a straight size down from my usual size with the only change to the instructions being to extend the elastic in the side seam higher than intended in order to get a proportionate look for my short-waisted torso.
I found this to be very generously sized, and if you prefer a tighter fit, definitely go down two sizes. Since I'm entering that phase of life where extra stuff seems to like my waist, I left it a little looser fitting.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would recommend this because it's simple to sew and a great twist on a typical pullover.
Conclusion:
A very nice little surprise for my winter wardrobe. You can see all the pics of it on my blog
