Pattern Description: View A. Close fitting, pullover top with high "V" neckline.
Pattern Sizing: 6-22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much - I made it with long sleeves and my neckline is a bit deeper.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't really follow them, as it's a pretty basic top.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I dislike the neckline. My fabric is a very drapey knit but either because of the cut and/or the interfacing of the facing, the neckline does not drape well and instead sticks out.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I cut a size 6 at the shoulder, widening to an 8 a the arm hole and tapering to a 10 at the hip. Cut 1 1/4" off lower armscyes and added 1 1/2" to upper sleeve width (I have large biceps). Added a back seam so that I could take 5/8" out of the upper back, as it was too wide and the facing/interfacing caused it it stick straight out.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? No, I would not sew this top again. Many others have sewn it with no problems, so maybe it's just me.

Elona said... Gee, it looks VERY cute on you. What kind of 'stick out' is it that bothers you? But wait--why on earth did the pattern call for an interfacing of the facing on a drapy knit? 2/8/13 5:08 PM

Lori9999 said... Elona, I'm not sure why the pattern called for interfacing as I've never used it before on a "drapey" neckline, but thought they knew something that I didn't. I used Pellon "Sheer-Knit" interfacing as it was the lightest weight I could find. What I mean by sticking out is just that, instead of draping at the neckline, it sticks out away from my body (the picture doesn't show it very well). The finished product looks more like a neckline that doesn't fit correctly instead of a fashion detail...but like I said, maybe it's just me, as many others have liked the pattern. 2/9/13 0:09 AM
