| [This review is for the skirt portion of this pattern.]
Pattern Description: Misses' Top and Skirt: Very-loose fitting top has front keyhole opening with knot, back yoke, back band, extended sleeves tied into knot and back button closing. Flared skirt, has front and back seam details, back invisible zipper closing and wide waistband.
Pattern Sizing: DD [12-14-16-18] I cut a size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Sort of! The length, certainly not!
Were the instructions easy to follow? There is nothing incredibly difficult in the design.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the design, but I do not like short skirts. So I added quite a bit of length.
The skirt includes some ridiculously small pockets that open at the waistband and that might be able to hold a credit card, but nothing more. If I ever make this skirt again, I would certainly forego the pockets.
Fabric Used:
*Quilting cotton
*Cotton batiste lining
*Invisible zipper
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The major change to the design was adding length. I ended up adding a full 7 inches!
I also added a cotton lining to the skirt because the quilting cotton was a bit too sheer for my taste.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I may have to make this up again in a heavier fabric at some point. I would certainly recommend the pattern - this is not a silhouette I have come across before. That being said, the skirt portion is EXTREMELY short. So if you are not into that, some alteration is going to be necessary.
Conclusion: This skirt was finished almost three years ago, and this is the first time it has been worn. I am so pleased that I finally found something to match back to my skirt so I could wear it!

This is a really cute skirt. The inset at the back adds a lovely flare in just the right place.

The skirt is gorgeous - and I love the knit top with it.
