Pattern Description: . A close fitting dress or T shirt with scoop neckline. Sleeves can be made with narrow long sleeves or short sleeves. Stretch knits only.
Pattern Sizing:12-24. I made size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very straightforward. It was not really neccesary to trim back the neck edge seam allowance to 1cm before attaching the neck edge strip as suggested. I also found it useful (though not essential) to overlock the edges of this narrow neck strip together before attaching it. If you do this it is probably better to cut out the strip slightly larger to allow for cutting the edge off with the overlocker.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I wanted a plain T shirt dress and this fitted the bill. I like the darts in the front which help give a T shirt a a good shape, I like the scoop neckline, It is low and wide but fits well. I like the way a neck edge strip is used, this is simple but effective. It is a straight strip not a bias one but gives a nice finish with top stitching on the outside close to the attchment seam using a twin needle.
Different effects can be obtained by either top stitching (blue top) or using a contrast colour as in navy T shirt. Here some white was used. Navy T shirt In the grey and pink I simply took the white strip of the striped fabric. Grey T shirt
Fabric Used: Cotton jersey
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:.
I used a diferent colour material (white) for the neck edge strip on some tops e.g navy top. I made one long sleeved pink striped T shirt with a higher neckline and instead of using a neck edge strip I used some cotton twill ribbon as a narrow facing.neck tape High neck T shirt I also used this to make small plackets in the bottom of the side seams to give a more professional look.Placket Placket 2 href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8405/8673359676_039999b32b_z.jpg" target="_blank" rel='nofollow'>Placket outside I used a cover locker to sew the bottom hem, giving 3 lines of stitching(blue top) Blue top
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Another dress I have already sewn this pattern a few times. So far they have all been casual T shirt type outfits. However with suitable material this could also make a more classy looking outfit. I would recommend it.
An easy pattern which can be made up quite quickly
