Pattern Description:
T-Shirt with ruffled raglan sleeves. There is another long-sleeve version plus a dress with ruffle as variations of this basic pattern. Pattern Sizing:
34-42, I sewed 42 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It looks like the line drawing. In the magazine the model is wearing a jacket over the short sleeve version of this which covers up the detail of this pattern. It does look similar to the long-sleeve version which is actually visible on the magazine photo. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, this is a simple pattern, front, back and sleeves. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the sleeve detail. When sewing this up I made sure to make my gathering even, as this is the focal point of the T-Shirt and I didn't want any unevenness there.
It has a scoop neckline and is not too low for me. Fabric Used:
rayon knit Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No design changes. The only alteration I made was to add clear elastic in the neck binding to prevent it from stretching out with wear. When I did the binding I measured the length on the pattern and cut it to that size as the neckline of the shirt had stretched a little from handling. I would recommend this, otherwise the neckline might turn out too large. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I may sew it again. I do recommend. Conclusion:
In another review I had read that this runs a little small, so I did the largest size (42). For shirts I'm kind of between 40 and 42 in Burda. Actually this is not very close-fitting on me, but its also not too loose.
This is a very quick project. I traced on Friday evening, cut out in 1/2 hour on Saturday morning and sewed it up on Saturday evening. All in all I think it didn't take more than 3 hours from start to finish.
I wanted a basic T-Shirt with a little interesting detail and this is what I got.
