| Pattern Description:
This pattern is from Simplcity's 'Go Green' line which is meant to recycle clothes and fabric in your home.
The pattern is for a V-neck sweatshirt, hooded sweat and a recycled knit sweater with buttons up the back.
Pattern Sizing:
The pattern is sized XS, S, M. I sewed a 'small' for my 10 pound Chihuahua. His length was two inches longer than the 'medium'.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I really love the v-neck technique. I'm sad to say it's never looked that good on my own clothes, LOL!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the v-neck and hood options. But, the pattern as drafted does not give clearance for peeing. Since my dog is small and essentially bald and hairless, he needs a sweater indoors in the winter and definitely when we go out.
So, this pattern / sweater for me is a indoor only draft (unless I make it much shorter which wouldn't give the coverage I want).
Fabric Used:
Wool blend sweater knit from Mood Fabrics. It's a little feminine for Linus, but the people seem to love it. He, think he fancy.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Originally the sweater was just too long when I added an extra inch. I ended up taking out three inches from the finished project. In addition, the sleeves were too long by about two inches. I've got them rolled up here.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'm not sure. I think it's a PITA to change Linus' clothes before taking a walk (and he can't get pee clearance in this). But, I love the V neck. I may adapt another pattern I have to use with the V.
Conclusion:
Ok. Seriously. Dogs in clothes are ridiculously cute. Here's my blog post about the pattern
