| Pattern Description:
Women’s dress sewing pattern available for download. Available in various sizes.
Dresses like this have a timeless beauty because every seam is so thoughtfully placed. The front tucks are like magic for giving a stunning slim look. The high funnel collar and front slit draw the eye to the décolletage. In total 50’s style, the sleeves are in a pretty 3/4 length
Pattern Sizing:
36 to 44. I made a 38 for the bodice. The skirt is a 42
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Better!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I found the instructions very easy to follow. I used the portuguese Burda, which is translated by people who know how to sew. Everything makes perfect sense
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the overall look of this pattern, the way it is so incredibly flattering, different and intemporal. There is noting to deslike
Fabric Used:
Cotton jersey
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not add a zipper like Burda instructs. It is not necessary. I did not baste and press the front pleats, I love them as they are. I added some vintage buttons to the front bodice
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will not sew this again, because the design is just too unique. I cannot recommend this pattern highly enough. If you like me only sew the pleats up to the arrow and ignore the instructions to baste and press them, this is a dress that you can construct easly over the weekend.
Conclusion:
I am in luuuurve with this dress! The fit is perfect, the construction was a joy with everything matching, I love the colour, the buttons, everything! And the best was my neighbour who saw me on the dress and asked : "Did you loose weight?" PERFECT DRESS! What can I say more? GO AND TRACE THIS!!!!! NOW! Dress front Dress back Dress bodice

Stunning and your review has given me confidence to try it. I looked at the magazine picture and thought it would be too fiddly!

The "lose weight" factor alone is enough for me to make this dress. I dig the funnel collar most completely!

It's a stunning dress Joana, I think I would have followed your advice and trace it right away, if I would have bought the issue. Clearly overlooked this gem. Color and style are really you. Looking forward to see it sometime (soon) in real life.
