| Pattern Description:
Misses' Lined Jacket, Top, Dress, Lined Skirt, and Pants Pattern Sizing:
6 to 22 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were easy to follow. I omitted the lining as I wanted to use the double faced fabric as part of the design feature. The fabric looks great with the sleeves rolled up and the reverse side of the fabric showing. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the lines of the jacket, nice princess seaming with back darts and shoulder darts. The top, I liked the gathers at the shoulder and a looser look. Fabric Used:
Both fabrics are from Mood Fabrics
the top is a jersey knit and the jacket is Navy Stripes Nautical Double-faced Cotton-blend Jersey trimmed with navy ponte from Mood also. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
As mentioned earlier, I did not line the jacket. I also used the ponte as binding for the front facings and sleeves hem. For the blazer, I basted the front and the facings wrong sides together. Then I trimmed off the 5/8" seam allowance, as I was just binding the edges. The McCall's pattern just meets in the middle, with no allowance for buttonholes. I added a large hook and eye with buttons on each side. I also did a french seam on the sleeve seam so when I do roll up the sleeves, the seam will look nice and neat.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I might sew the jacket and top again. Do pay attention to the top sizing, I thought is was generously sized. Conclusion:
Thrilled with my jacket and I think it will go with many pieces in my closet.
