Pattern Description:
Apron View B Pattern Sizing: large/x large
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Almost ... the picture looks more 50s style I think. Were the instructions easy to follow? The sewing instructions were good, the bias tape making instructions not too good so I bought premade bias tape.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the style, I like the pleats, I have never made pleats before. I also like the top very nice flare at sleeve area. ............ I did not like so much bias tape to put on. It takes 2 pkgs of bought bias tape to make this apron.
Fabric Used: I used Kona cotton in green with leaves, extra wide bias tape, white with green leaves ribbon for pocket trim.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The ties were very long so I shortened them by about 6 inches each. Also put in a few extra tucks at the waste to promote a more flounce in skirt area.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes I will make it again though I think next time I will put a hem around it maybe instead of so much bias tape. I would recommend it to others.
Conclusion:
A stylish apron that has some flare & can be dressed up with ribbons or perhaps ric rac too. I liked it once I figured out that for me it was better to just buy the bias tape I enjoyed making it. .....I think next time I will get some 30s fabric & make one .
