| Pattern Description: Dress with banded hem and sleeves.
Pattern Sizing:38-42. I would have liked to have had the option of sewing a 36, my usual Burda size, but since fit was not an issue, it was no biggie.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Pretty much.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Of course not! This is Burda! I did follow the order of construction, up to a point!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I was looking for a bathing suit coverup for an upcoming resort vacation and this design seemed to fit my needs. I like the style. It is loose and casual -- maybe could even go out for a beach lunch.
Fabric Used:Tangerine linen from Sew Much Fabric, a very nice online source, with fabulous customer service.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:As always with BurdaStyle instructions, I read them until I'm cross-eyed, and then end up doing my own thing. I don't like their instructions for the side pocket or for the vented band on the sleeve. I would recommend going with the traditional way of doing these.
Also, Burda is never going to give detailed instructions. But staystitching is pretty important on the curved areas of this banded top.
There are 10 buttonholes and buttons! I couldn't find buttons that I really liked for this and ended up using some shell buttons I got from Pam Euny. I like the way the buttons extend into the neckline.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Don't think I'll need another one -- at least not this year! It is not a complicated project, but Burda is not for the timid!
Conclusion: I like this top/dress a lot and would recommend it to those looking for a loose fitting, casual dress/top.

I just made this in the shirt version (104) and wore it over togs and love it. Yours is a lovely colour and I would love to see a shot that shows the bottom of the dress.
