| Pattern Description:
This pattern is for a fun (and trendy) ruffled skirt with an elastic waist and hi-low hemline.
(I haven't reviewed the tank top, but it's another pattern by Cole's Corner and Creations--the Too Cute Bias tank)
Pattern Sizing:
Sizes 3 to 16.
I sewed a size 3/4 for my almost 4 year old. She is slim, but it fit great (an elastic waist never hurts). The front was just long enough for my sense of modesty--I will lengthen it just a bit the next time I make this skirt.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, though I think Cole's daughter should be a professional model, so I'm not sure I want to compare my finished results to hers (Seriously, have you seen the pictures on Cole's blog? She's gorgeous, and you can tell she enjoys showing off what her mom makes her)
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes! One thing that makes Cole's instructions stand out is that she includes great tips throughout. She also explains why she has things done a certain way, and I love that. It's kind of like a mini-sewing lesson.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Even though this is a pretty simple pattern, all the tips and explanations in the instructions made it extra nice to sew.
The pictures are clear and the order of construction cut down on having to swap thread colors, which made it even quicker to sew.
I love that Cole started drafting her own patterns after already sewing a ton--you can tell that she knows what she's doing and it makes her patterns so much nicer to make.
The asymmetry in the hemline is very trendy right now, and this skirt would be perfect for tweens and older girls--a very under-targeted market for sewing patterns.
Fabric Used:
I used an old sheet I thrifted, but you can use all kinds of fabric to make this, including silky fabrics, or using eyelet lace for the ruffle.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'm sure I will be sewing this again. I definitely recommend it, especially to those who have been looking for more patterns that are appropriate for tweens. I recommend all of Cole's patterns--she really works to make ones that are not the standard PDF fare.
Conclusion:
Super cute pattern, great directions, lots of versatility, just all around great. Cole's patterns and instructions are excellent and stand out compared to other PDF patterns.
