Pattern Description:
Dresses A, B, C, D have bodice variations with front pleats, neckline variations, self-faced midriff, pleated skirt front, back zipper and sleeves in three lengths; dresses A, B have scoop neck; dress A has short sleeves; dress B has long sleeves; dresses C, D have wrapped bodice, “V&” neck and self-ties; dress C has three-quarter length sleeves; dress D has long sleeves; dresses A, B, C, D length is 1" below mid-knee. Pattern Sizing:
The pattern instructions spend a great deal of time explaining fit and offering ways to alter the bodice and skirt. I followed the instructions and measured my upper bust and cut the pattern size 10 when normally I cut 12. My material has a lots of stretch and I was worried about gaping around the neck line. I'm glad I did as it fits as desired. Tissue fitting was not helpful for fit as the paper does not stretch as the material does. but it did give me an indication of how high the neck was. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Exactly Were the instructions easy to follow?
If you are starting with knits I recommend starting here because of all the information included in this pattern. This is a simple dress to put together but the info can be used in many situations.
But I will ass that this material was hard to mark, so instead of a pen I thread traced the pleats. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love everything bout this pattern!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
It does not need a zipper. Don't added one it just slips over your head. I used Example of a basic self bias binding on the neck, makes the finish clean.
I shortened the length to just above the knee. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will definitely make it many more times. Conclusion:
Great pattern Side Back
