To achieve the chevron pattern, I cut the horizontal strip fabric on the bias at a 45 degree angle so that when one piece was rotated the stripes matched up.
I have no secret to matching the stripes, just time, patience and placing a pin at every other stripe. I'm quite happy with the out come, even thought the side seams aren't perfect.
I made this dress by tracing a racer back tank top directly onto to the chevroned fabric.
I lined just the upper part as I wanted the skirt to be light. But, in retrospect, the bias mid section could have used some support.
