Pattern Description: 1950's style dress w/ a fitted skirt
Pattern Sizing: Gertie uses her own sizing, so you really need to measure yourself and then determine on the chart what you should sew. But, my size is pretty close to what it is in RTW using her size chart.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. There were some new things for me, but the first 1/3 of the book goes into depth on the more difficult techniques, so you can supplement her pattern instructions with the earlier chapters in the book.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really loved this pattern. Though this book is for vintage lovers, I think this dress is timeless.
Fabric Used: Wool suiting and a poly lining fabric
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did some basic modifications for fit and then used an invisible zipper instead of a lapped zipper.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I will have to try a variation so that I just don't have a half dozen of the same dress.
Conclusion: I really love this dress. I made a wearable muslin before and loved it but this time it was even better as I knew what to do as I sewed it and I was able to use some very nice fabric. It is tailored and comfortable and I think an all around classy dress.

I have the book and am looking forward to making that particular "Joanie" dress. Yours is fantastic and makes me want to sew it up even more. Great job!
