I like how the dress looks in the picture, then I read it's made from stretch denim. ouch! This is one of the hardest things to get a handle on in sewing: fabric choice. Denim could have made a wrap dress successfully if the pattern relied more on seams to make the shape, think of the classic denim jacket. Instead of tucks, princess seams. Denim doesn't flow really so tucks releasing fullness into soft folds is not going to happen, and then it's lined. Nuh-uh. Look for a softer fabric, one that flutters and moves when you shake it. It doesn't have to be tissue thin, it just has to drape closer to the body and move with it.
