Pattern Description: Very loose-fitting, lined skirt (cut on crosswise grain of fabric) has waistband with attached tie ends, front pleats, hem band, ruffle attached to lining and invisible back zipper.
Pattern Sizing: I cut it to a size 12, really it was probably a little big and I should have gone with the 10.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It was easy as advertised, but what hadn’t occurred to me when I saw the original pattern was that it’s actually a full circle skirt. Which means lots and lots and lots and lots of hemming. Don’t get me wrong, I love circle skirts, but I was unprepared.
I ended up deciding I didn’t like the super wide waist band, so I cut it down to half the width. I also omitted the tulle ruffle on the lining because I wasn’t sure how much extra bulk the skirt could take. Otherwise, it’s a circle skirt plain and simple and the front and back pleats were a nice touch, and you can never really go wrong with a circle skirt.
Fabric Used: Cheap cotton-polyester blend from Joann Fabrics
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I narrowed the waist band and did not add the ruffle to the lining.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? The pattern was ok, but I don't really recommend this pattern if you want to sew the skirt - you don't need it for a simple circle skirt. Instead, I'd recommend the wonderful tutorial for circle skirts written by Mahaila over at Fickle Sense.
Conclusion: A pretty good pattern, probably great for beginners, but not my favorite ever.

Very pretty! Circle skirts are so much fun - but not quite as much fun to hand hem. ;)

Did you find this pattern to be a little funky at the back/zip? I followed the instructions, placing the zipper tape 1/4" below the top of the fabric, and now my teeth are WAY below the edge of the main fabric, but it almost seems by design? Did you find that to be the case? I'm tempted to toss a hook and eye in there, but since I was injured and "expanded" between cutting the skirt and finishing it, this might be a blessing in disguise.
