| Pattern Description: A cowl neck t-shirt.
Pattern Sizing: 34-44. I made a 40, graded to a 42 and the waist, then to a 44 at the hip.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, but I changed the sleeves on each version. I made three version: A Pale blue short sleeved one, a navy blue long sleeved one, and a sassy zig zag black and white sleevless one.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I made this top one other time and didn't need the instructions for these. Once you make this you'll be able to throw it together in no time. The instructions are sparse but complete... this may be frustrating for very new seamstresses but not that huge a problem.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's oh so versatile. The drape lays nicely and isn't super low or right up to the neck.
Fabric Used: I used a modal rayon spandex knit for the two blue ones and a polyester crepe knit for the black and white zig zag one.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I changed up the sleeve length-- I simply left them out on the sleeveless one and folded over the seam allowance and sewed. I lopped of the sleeves for the pale blue one for short sleeves. I left the hems raw on the blue ones. I made my own fusible 'vilene' bias tape and added it to the shoulder seams to stabilize them.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I've sewn this four times already... time to make more goodies. Yes, others should make this one. The magazine is dirt cheap (right now on 2/21/13 it's 3.95 USD plus 3.95 USD to ship) and has a bunch of great patterns.
Conclusion: Love this shirt! Go read and see more on my blog Kathy Sews.

Thanks for the review of your snazzy tops! I have revisited the My Image issues that I own and had great success with a pair of pants. So much so I went to the site to subscribe. The markings are sparse and the seam allowances are not included and just like Burda the directions are terse. The prices are great and the patterns are somewhat unique.

All of these look great! I agree that the cowl is just perfect on this pattern.

You made some great looking tops! I think I have this magazine as I bought a slew of them about a year ago but never used them. I am definitely wanting to make this top after seeing all of your versions!

Very cute shirts, nice job! I'll have to see if I can drum up a My Image mag in my town.

Your tops are sooo cute! :) I love cowl neck tops, and yours came out fantastic. My favorite is the black and white one (especially paired with your red skirt!). Great job!
