|Pattern Description: Misses' Pants, Dress or Top and Jacket. "Easy Chic"|
Pattern Sizing:6-14. I made size 10, view A (the sundress)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?yes, no problems. However, I would not rate this as "easy" because of all the topstitching of the ribbon. I actually used two different machines, which made it a lot easier.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like the trim details. I disliked the gathering across the middle and changed that.
Fabric Used:quilting weight cotton from Hobby Lobby, turquoise grosgrain ribbon for the trim
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:The gathers across the front of the abdomen were not flattering, so I changed the gathers to pleats and then sewed them down about 6 inches, leaving the abdomen flat.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? It's pretty distinctive, so I don't know that I would make another one, but the pattern also includes a cute top, pants and summer jacket. I do recommend it (minus the gathers) if you are up for all the topstitching.
Conclusion: This dress turned out cute, and is one of the first wearable things I have made for my teenage daughter. You can read more on my blog
