Fitted dress with princess seams, back zipper closure and interfaced collar I made View B.
Pattern Sizing:
4-16 European sizing - I made a size 10
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes - good, clear instructions. The pattern gave instructions for a lapped zipper which I followed but next time I would use an ordinary zipper as I don't think it added anything to the finished garment.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the collar variations and tabs at the waistline. The 5 pattern views could be mixed and matched for a variety of different dresses.
Fabric Used:
A cotton blend in a small navy check. I think the fabric was probably a little lightweight and I wish I had added a lining, it wouldn't have been difficult and would have made for a much better finished result.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None - the sleeveless dress had a nice finish with sleeve facings. I had a little trouble attaching the collar. The instructions said to stretch the collar to fit the neck - I had to stretch it quite a lot so I think it looks a little pulled but it's nothing I can't live with.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Possibly - it's a good addition to my working wardrobe and I think I would probably give it another go in a long sleeved version.
Conclusion:
The princess seams give this dress a good line and the different collar variations give it some interest.
Pretty dress. You did a great job.
