| Pattern Description: Semi fitted blouse with collar and button placket
Pattern Sizing: I made a sz Small
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes they are great, I really liked the options for the button placket.
Fabric Used:Cotton poly blend
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Raised the darts by 1" and pointed the collar. I originally put the sleeves on but it was way too tight through the shoulders for her so I took them off. Next time I'll make her a sz M with a SBA.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? yes and yes, we went and picked out more fabric already!
Conclusion: I made this up for my daughter. Its a wearable muslin and still needs some tweaks but its not too bad. I liked the pattern, the instructions were quite clear and the only part I struggled with was the placket but on Megan Nielsens website she has a tutorial for it so that was a big help.
I did find the shoulders quite narrow on my daughter but I think she must have wide shoulders because looking at other photos no one else seemed to have the same trouble and by cutting off the sleeves and finishing the armholes with bias tape its made it wearable.
I have some more photos over at my blog |
