Pattern Description: Dress with short sleeves , princess seams in the front, "bias"-pleats in the skirt and a faux-belt with a knot
Pattern Sizing:Plussize irregular
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?. I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
There were none
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the belt with the knot
Fabric Used: Synthetic jersey
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The skirt is longer, the neckline is wider, the belt is less wide
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I Think so
Conclusion: I loved to show that a museum piece could be wearable today and that I was able to draw it
The centre front piece is made double with an interlining.
There are two big paspoiled buttonholes. The belt comes underneath from de side- seams , through the buttonholes. I had drawn in the "bias"-pleats . That came out well after I had adapted the side seams

In fact it's the old-fashioned technique of drawing a block-patern on your own sizes.
After that I often use the Rundschau Schnittkonstruktion. They have instructions to transform your block into their given style of clothing. But this time for both my knock-offs I had to find my own way, because that styles were not in the Rundschau books. For both Muse and Michelle I had to draw princess seams. For Muse I added the pleates by cutting the blockpattern and gluing the pleates in between , and for Michelle I had to construct another type of sleeves. The advantage of working with blockpatterns is that you need not make adaptations to your body every time again, but on the contrary now I have to add and sometimes construct the style details 2/26/13 8:23 AM
