This wall quilt was made for the 2013 Challenge of my quilting retreat. We were given a copy of Van Gogh's Starry Night and told to be inspired by it. I love this painting and decided that I really wanted to try to copy it. Starry Night 2
There are thousands of little oval shaped pieces of fabric adhered to a background cloth. Then fabric paint was used to add details in places. Finally more ovals were adhered to finalize the quilt for quilting. There were a few places that I could use larger pieces.
I am thrilled that it is done and even more thrilled that it has already been sold!
so beautiful. I know many people who adore that painting so would have wanted such a quilt. Brava
