Pattern Description: Full skirted dress with fitted bodice and seaming details. Dress has multiple pieces for both skirt and bodice.
Pattern Sizing:14 - 22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't follow the instructions. I used a construction method that made sense to me, considering all the pieces, and finishing details that I used.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the finished look. I loved the piping details, and can see this being really on trend with what's being shown for S/S 2013 if you change the piping to sheer inserts. .
Fabric Used: An inexpensive, floaty rayon blend for the main body. Sheer rayon blend for shoulders and godets, a unknown woven for piping.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:FBA to accommodate my sizable bust.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I may sew this again with sheer inserts for the summer.
Conclusion: I loved this dress because the finished look was so special, especially with the mixed materials. The fitted bodice, and full skirt was a deviation from my normal silhouette and if I were to make this again, I'd probably adjust where the top of the godets hit, but overall, I really enjoyed this pattern. On a side note, I'm unsure if the notches for the waist band were off on the pattern, or I did something silly when cutting, but they didn't line up for me. I was still able to sew it up without much hassle.
