Pattern Description: Burda Skirt: From the BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook
Pattern Sizing:For me pattern sizing was off, I had to make quite a few test garments to figure out my true size. I originally went by their sizing chart and it was big enough to fit 2 people in it. So I highly recommend testing the garment and measuring yourself to the pattern vs using their sizing chart.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Instructions were very easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that the instructions are easy to follow. I didn't like that in the instructions the overskirt says not to add hem allowance if you are using a lace panel which makes the overskirt too small.
Fabric Used: Rayon/Cotton blend for the underskirt and fancy lace for the overskirt.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I am definitely sewing this one again but going to make it with the same material for both under and over skirt. I highly recommend this to others.
Conclusion: This is a soft and flowy skirt. Great for spring with a pair of leggings (reminds me of a ballerina skirt). The Rayon/Cotton blend was a good choice however due to the bit of sheerness to the material, I would recommend leggings underneath (as it's a bit see-through even with the lace over top, or do a lining.)
A very sweet skirt. Thanks for the informative review.
