Pattern Description: Dress (close-fitting through bust) has seam detail, back zipper and narrow hem.

Pattern Sizing: Misses 6-22

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? mostly

Were the instructions easy to follow? very easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the seams for color blocking

Fabric Used: a ponte knit I purchased from Fabric Mart. I love their pontes! the dress calls for a woven or jersey but I really like it out of the ponte which is almost the same as double knit.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I changed up the sleeves to make the short sleeves longer.. more like regular sleeves. The sleeves on the pattern are capped sleeves. I took another full sleeve pattern from another Vogue pattern and while leaving the existing sleeve cap on the Vogue 8848, i traced the remaining of the sleeve and undersleeve from the other pattern. (I hope that makes sense)

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? yes. I did sew it twice. the first time in a black and white, and I think I broke a color block rule, because i should have had the black/darker color on the sides. black and white version

Conclusion: Great dress; flattering lines, goes together easily and is easy to fit because of the princess seams.

	grays08 said... I love both versions as well but can see what you mean about putting the darker color on the outside. I just reviewed a color-block Vogue dress that I agonized over whether to put the darker color on the outside or inside....I went for the inside but it wasn't black so maybe that makes a difference.
