Pattern Description: Easy to wear and easy to sew pull-on pants.
Pattern Sizing: 8-30. I chose size 10 based on my measurements.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? It looked like the envelope though it's hard to tell from the drawing how loose or tight it is supposed to fit.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were quite adequate. They even had drawings.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? These are some of the best fitting pants I've ever made.
Fabric Used: I used the 4-way stretch bottom-weight black ponte from Emma One Sock. Content: 63% rayon, 32% nylon & 5% spandex. I don't particularly like nylon but detest polyester even more so I chose this ponte but I really don't care for the fabric. It looks and feels like poly to me in spite of the majority fiber being rayon.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made no alterations and sewed it as specified excluding the optional elastic.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I plan to them again with a different fabric.
Conclusion: After wearing these pants I found that the ponte grew a bit so I need to take them in slightly at the high hip to waist primarily due to not putting elastic in.
Karla Kizer said... I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I put the pants on. The only change I had to make was lowering the waistband/pants seam in the front. I didn't use elastic, either, but I sort of "interfaced" the waistband with a medium weight powermesh (lycra) to give the fabric a little "ooomph." I'm so glad the pattern worked for you, too. 3/1/13 5:36 PM
