Pattern Description: Rose is a round yoke dress with either short or long sleeves.

Pattern Sizing:girls 5-8

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?no, but I did not follow the pattern at all.

Were the instructions easy to follow?yes

Fabric Used:white cotton broadcloth and black satin ribbon trim.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I started this sewing project by making LJP Samantha's Ice Cream Dress for an American Girl Doll. After whipping up this dress, I needed to create a girl's size 8 dress to match.

Rose has a great round yoke and a gathered bodice. Great starting pattern to create my dress. I added a collar and ruffle trim to the round yoke. I also added a little fullness to the bodice. I did not alter the sleeves, but did add a band at the end of the sleeve.

I needed a dropped waist dress, so I only cut Rose out to the waist and then gathered it and added a waistband and gathered skirt to it. I put in a smocker's placket in the back of the skirt, so I could make the dress a button down the back.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I won't make another Samantha's dress, but the Rose pattern fit like a dream and is very cute, so I might whip up one of them.

Conclusion: Fun costume for my daughter as she reads through the American Girl doll book series.
