In my 40 + years of sewing this is the second burda pattern that I have ever used. The first one was a simple crew neck top (burda 3197) with 3 pieces, so I had no problem with the instructions or matching pieces. However this one was a different story. First of all I cut a 12 because it was a loose fit. I did not make a muslin fit because according to my last project, burda appeared to be sized proportionately, also since it was a swing coat how bad could it be? I made my normal adjustment because of my height. I adjusted all pattern pieces shortening by 1 1/2 inch. I also shorten the sleeves, because of the dropped shoulders. The pieces did not match up, the lengths were all wrong. I had 2 inches more on the side panel and 3 inches more on the sleeve. It was a disaster, I was afraid that I would have to toss this project. Because I loved this fabric so much and green is supposed to be the color this spring, I decided to trim off the access and go with it. Fabric Used: Some kind of wool purchased from Soul Fabric Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes with the alterations described Conclusion: This was a simple jacket that had me totally frustrated. The jacket in the end turned out really good, the next time I will cut the 10. I did adjust my pattern pieces so that I wont have the different lengths. I like my jacket much better than the inspiration Peter Jensen jacket. Burda could do better with markings on the pattern and instructions. I did purchased another burda pattern 7576 that will be a task I am sure, but I am up for the challenge.

That is worrisome about the pieces not matching up; so unlike Burda that has a reputation for excellent drafting. In the end you have a lovely jacket, but that's the sort of info that will make me steer clear!
