| Pattern Description: Loose fitting blouses have front button band, self lined yoke back, shaped hemline, and long sleeves with pleats, continuous lap and button cuffs. Narrow hem. I made two versions, red plaid and blue plaid, of view C.
Pattern Sizing: B5 (8-16)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, but you probably need to have some knowledge of how to construct a shirt.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love a denim shirt as a wardrobe staple. It's great to have the option of adding multiple fabrics to make this shirt stand out.
Fabric Used: I used a dark and medium blue denim, a light blue shirting fabric, and plaid polyester for the collar, cuffs, bands, and pocket flaps.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used various sizes because I wanted the shirt to be fitted. I used a size 14 (B cup) for the main body but graded out to a size 16 at the waist. I used a size 12 for the sleeves. I lengthened the hem by 1.5" because I plan to wear the shirt untucked and like my rear mostly covered. I made my usual sway back adjustment. I would recommend always checking the finished measurements on any pattern tissue to determine if the amount of ease included works for the fit you're trying to achieve. Luckily, it's easy to use multiple sizes in one garment when working with a multi-sized pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I will definitely sew a couple of the other views. I would definitely recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: This shirt pattern is well drafted and the various style options are great. I will likely make vies A and D at some point. This will be one of my 'go to' patterns for a button down shirt. I also love that the pattern comes with different cups sizes. My daughter has already asked me to make view C for her so I will likely make another. Completed Shirts
