Pattern Description:
Oversized top, with front-buttoned bands, front and back gathered into yokes, very low armholes, shaped hemline and narrow hem. I chose View D, it's sleevess with a collar band and has ties in the back. Pattern Sizing:
B5(8-10-12-14-16) I cut a Size 8. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I actually like mine better. But, yes it looks like the drawing. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Adding gathers to a yoke isn't easy for beginners. But the pattern is easy to follow. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I thought I hated the fullness, until I added the tie ends. They give it a cute look in the back. I'm in love! Fabric Used:
I used a sheer, pink Chiffon and pink matching Lace. I found the Chiffon to be quite a PITA to work with. But, I seriously love it anyway! Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the length by about 6 inches. I made the back yoke out of Lace. Instead of just adding a small hem at the arm holes, I added some of the Edge from my Lace fabric, as trim. It adds more detail and I like it. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would and I will. Conclusion:
This is the second look that I have created from this particular pattern. I really like this one. The added tie in the back, it gives it a more flattering fit, than hanging loose. It also makes it look more "girly" to me. I'll be wearing this a lot. I need to make several, so I don't wear one totally out! haha
