Pattern Description:
Backpack : 10" W × 161/2" L × Approximately 4" D. I made View C with a contrasting pocket and gusset.
Pattern Sizing:
Does not apply.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it does.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I found them pretty easy to follow, for the most part. It was my first backpack, so I was a novice. It'll be easier next time.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the shape of this backpack. I also like the phone, iPod pocket. Very handy!
Fabric Used:
I used a heavyweight cotton solid and contrasting print. I used heavyweight, sew-in interfacing and a small bit of Velcro. It also called for two zippers, a plastic "D" ring and a plastic "Slider".
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made it exactly as instructed.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I don't have a huge need for duplicate backpacks. But, I might make one for my niece, she is obsessed with Lime Green and Zebra Stripes.
Conclusion:
It's lightweight and much sturdier than I thought it would be. I take it on easier, more relaxed hikes that do not require me to take all my hiking gear.
