Now I am sure you will be curious and want a picture but the photo business is temporarily out of order due to incompatible equipment.
This is an intriguing pattern...I made the vest but it can be made into what looks like an adorable cape. I hope someone tries the cape. The vest is like a half tuxedo.
The pattern calls for a self lined front but my material was too thick and I was able to finish the edges with a zillion yards of hug snug. Boy did this remind me of an Issey Miyake!! I had no idea how this was put together, and wasn't it just the other day I bragged that I ignored directions regularly? I really had to squint hard at the drawings and terse sentences to understand the basic idea. In the end it isn't complicated...just different.
I went down a size anticipating the shoulders being wing like and while the shoulders fit nicely (sans shoulder pads), I could have used an extra inch on each side of the front opening. A clever afterthought leather lip and zip could be an option if I feel it must close.
This design would likely be problematic for curvy figures. There is very little wearing ease. The pockets flare out in an avant garde sort of way, just like the envelope photo.
This would look great in a coated linen, yet it might work in a ponte for a slouchier look.
Mark carefully for this one and consider the pocket lining out of a lighter fabric. Not an easy one to alter, but a unique look for the adventurous.
