| Pattern Sizing:I chose the dress and cut a size 16. I usually do a 1" FBA but there was plenty of ease listed on the pattern so I omitted that step. I am long waisted so I added 1" to the bodice length but I could have added a little more.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it did look like the drawing on the envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, but I have some issues with the instructions on the envelop...to whit: "additional notions and details in the inside instructions". I would have like to know what size/type of elastic to use at the waist, but that was never included anywhere in the instructions (I measured and used 3/4" non-roll). Also, on the pattern itself, there is a notch on the bodice waistline that should match up with the skirt, and there are 7 notches on the skirt none of which are marked corresponding to the different size. Since the skirt is gathered, matching the two pattern pieces is more than a little impossible.
Finally, and I guess this comes under the heading "Poor Drafting", the back bodice piece is cut on the fold line, but the front bodice piece is cut as two separate pieces resulting a seam line down the front of the bodice. Since I had a pretty wild pattern (and not a lot of fabric to spare) I wasn't able to fit the front bodice pieces to match, nor could I find a place where I could the front as a single piece
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like the lines and the summery look and feel of the pattern. Also, the neck-line is not cut too low IMHO. Dislikes are purely personal: I REALLY dislike gathering - and this dress has a LOT of gathers.
Fabric Used:A light weight poly crincley mystery fabric from Joanne's that was in a friend's stash and given to me as a "thanks for taking care of the dog while I was on vacation" present. I decided to show the wrong side of the fabric because I didn't like the glitter highlights on the right side of the fabric and I interline the dress with a white rayon lining fabric since it was fairly sheer and the glittery highlights were scratchy.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: See above...if I made it again, I would probably draft a short sleeve (my arms DO NOT look like Michelle Obama's, thank you very much!)
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes, I would sew it again but not very soon. I would recommend it others, as long as they are aware of some the drafting/instruction issues.
Conclusion: A fairly easy, cute summery dress (and you can twirl in it!), but watch out for the drafting issues and buy enough fabric to handle the matching issues.

Cute litte dress! I am sorry about all of the pattern issues. It looks like it was worth it though as the results are adorable!

Thanks for the review. The pattern photo makes this dress more than a little roomy, so it's good to know that it's the case. I agree - it did come out quite lovely. I dig that fabric and think it's rad that you used the other side!!!
