Pattern Description:
From Sewaholic: "A feminine fitted jacket that creates an instant hourglass figure! This great-fitting modern jacket is perfect for work, weekend or a special night out."
Pattern Sizing:
0-16, I made an 8 according to the sizing table (my measurements are spot on that size). However, I took the center back and center front in by 3cm each (so a total of 6cm) and it's still too big. I like ease in a jacket, but this is just a bit too much for my taste. If I make it again, I will probably go down a size.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It's not quite as fitted through the waist as I would have thought. This is probably due to the fact that it's too big. Some pictures over at the blogpost.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, very straightforward, as usual with Sewaholic. Some previous sewing experience is required, though.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the fitted look, the peplums and that it is lined. It's a very elegant and feminie design.
Fabric Used:
A bouclé remnant from a dress I made.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Apart from taking it in I didn't change anything.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
It's a very distinct style, so I only need one of it. I recommend it highly, though, but advise going down 1 size.
Conclusion:
Even though it's too big in the shoulders, I still love the jacket. I will undoubtedly wear it a lot, and proudly.
