Pattern Description:
Misses' semi-fitted dress with V-neckline, raised waist and back zipper, has sleeve and hemline variations, optional front band, tie ends and ribbon trim.
I made dress F, with elbow length bell sleeves, front band and tie ends.
Pattern Sizing:
HH (6-8-10-12); R5 (14-16-18-20-22)
I cut size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the bell sleeves with asymmetrical hems and opening slits.
I also like the contrasting front band and tie ends.
Fabric Used:
Rayon Challis.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the dress in size 12, but the skirt was sewn in size 10, the bodice and sleeves side seams being 11.
I raised the V-neck by 1 1/2".
I removed the pleats from the front band.
Finally, I shortened the dress by 5/8" at hemline.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have already made a second version of this dress with shorter sleeves. I would recommend this pattern to others. There are four sleeve variatons and different looks can be made with this pattern.
Conclusion:
I like the simplicity of the dress. It was easy to sew and I am very pleased with the nice results.
