Pattern Description:
60's style dress, gathered waist, princess seams, belt Pattern Sizing:
8-18 I used 8 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Similar as I made some changes Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't follow these instructions, but I did look at them to write this review and they are very good. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I loved the style (even though a client picked it) Fabric Used:
Duchess Satin, silk lining Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I took some out of the sleeve head. The brief was for a smaller sleeve. The client didn't want the band on the sleeve, so I added 1/2" onto the seam allowance, bound the edge and hand stitched the hem.
Instead of a gathered waist, pleats were requested. I only used the existing pattern and instead of gathering, pleated the excess in line with the princess seams, front and back.
An attached sash was added to the waist. This was sewn into the waist seam and a bow was then hand stitched on.
The dress is fully lined (except the sleeves) with an enclosed hem. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew this again. Conclusion:
This is a lovely stylish dress and very easy to make. I was very happy with the finished project and it will make a lovely wedding dress. The client was also extremely happy with the finish article.

Well done on your first review - a full picture of the dress would be nice though. :)

Lovely wedding dress! The photos on your blog are very tiny, but you've done a lovely job with the simple style.

It looks so beautiful and reminds me of the classic vintage styles. The pleats are such a nice change and it's so elegant in its simplicity.
