Pattern Description:
Unlined, close-fitting dresses with bias skirt and yoke.

Pattern Sizing:
6-20. I made a size 14 in view D.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes it did! The pattern suggests using a knit with moderate stretch. I think mine is more stretchy, so my dress looks a bit less structured.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Yes. This dress is really simple and quick to make.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I like raglan sleeves and bias skirts! This dress has both. It's cute.

Fabric Used:

I used a fairly lightweight polyester knit. Because it is so lightweight and has more stretch than required, I didn't put the zipper in. I am worried that due to its stretch, the bias skirt will distort over time.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

From other reviewers who said the side bust view is a bit funny with the pleats, I sewed along the pleat to flatten it. It opens just below the bust point now. I also sewed a lining and attached it at the neckline, then put the neck facing over the fashion fabric and lining. Since the sleeves are lined, I didn't topstictch the opening (the sleeve lining and sleeve are attached at the opening). I had topstitched the sleeve opening but it made my fabric get "wavey" and not lay flat, so I ripped it out.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Yes, I will be making other versions. I love how it fits- so comfortable!

Conclusion:

I think this dress is great! It will make a nice spring dress that's fun to wear.
