Pattern Description:
From Burdastyle website: "A bias cut, cowl neckline and small waist gathers all work together to make the tweed fabric appear as light as a feather."
Pattern Sizing:
EU 34-42, I made a 36 up top and modified the straight skirt to an A-line, to accommodate my hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, especially since I used a very similar fabric.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they would have been if I had followed them, as it's the illustrated pattern. I made a lining, though, which changed the construction quite a bit. I wrote about the dress on my blog: Post with lots of pictures How I lined the dress
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I just loved the cowl and side gather detail. Something about these two features combined just speaks to me.
Fabric Used:
It's definitely wool, and I think it is boucle, but might also be a heavy tweed.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added a lining, which changed some construction steps, see link above.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
It was a lot of work and it is quite unique, so I won't need another one. I would recommend it, though.
Conclusion:
A very elegant dress. I just love it!
